SCorp Business. I filed Fed . return. Now need to e-file state.
502 Section II line 7 is negative.
I want to change that # to 0 but TT will not allow it and cannot
e-file with that negative number!
Thanks for any help!

You can't change line 7. Line 7 is a tax calculation using the numbers that you entered earlier in the return. You need to adjust the numbers that you have entered as business income into your return if the tax calculation is coming out negative.
What State are you filing for your S-Corp? What is the description of Section 2 Line7?
Hello!
"502, PTET: Sec II, line 7: Tax is invalid for State Electronic
Filing. Negative numbers are not allowed on this field."
(I tried to change it to 0 but wouldn't allow me - I then hit continue)
Later I opened the form pages and tried to change there but it would not allow me to change there either.
If there was a text box throwing an error that TT would allow to be changed, they have a text box where
you can change it. Putting it there changes it on the form. But if there isn't a box in the TT screen that mentions the error, then I notice I can't change even if I open the form.
I made notes in a text file with all the errors (I had to type them as I went) if you want me to post it.

@RobertB4444 Well, these are Turbo tax's calculations and the Federal portion is what the state is using and there is a business loss. I don't see how to do that and still match the Federal. You mean go into the Va form and change some of the figures?
No, I mean that some of the source data - which is entered in the federal return - has been entered incorrectly causing the Virginia calculation to go all wonky.
You need to double check the numbers that you have entered into the federal return.
I appreciate that advice but I think my figures are correct as CPA had checked it couple of years back. The return is unusual in that it has negative retained earnings figures for past several years. Its an old property that has been undergoing lot of repairs and renovations and so that isn't going to change anytime soon. I'll see what happens with this 2023. I appreciate the help.
