How does state of Michigan form 4884 get added to my MI-1040 form in turbo tax?

I should qualify for the retirement subtraction from my pension income. Why does Turbo Tax not recognize this?

2024 Retirement and Pension Information goes through the various ages and scenarios. Please verify that you qualify and then go through the program and check your answers.

In the federal section, you may have failed to answer the questions after the 1099-R for your particular deduction or in the state portion. 

Federal:

1. return to the income section
2. locate the 1099-R, edit
3. go through the entire form and be sure you have answered all questions

State:

1. return to the state program
2. edit Income
3. on Here's the income that Michigan handles differently, select Retirement income and Pension deduction
4. select the plan type
5. check the box if from deceased spouse
6. continue
7. done
