How do I report income from being an Air BnB Co-host? The residence is not mine, I was helping out a friend while they were out of town.

I have less than $300 in reported income from being an Air BnB co-host, but the only info I can find is in regards to someone who is renting out their own residence.

This payment would appear to be a non-taxable gift ("gratuity") from your friend in appreciation for you watching the place while he was out of town. You don't need to report it on your tax return

(As a favor to a friend, it was not motivated by profit, not related to your regular job and not something you would expect to receive in the future).

Was the income reported to you on a Form 1099-MISC? Who paid you, the owner or the guest?

No, it was not reported to me on any form. I believe the owner paid me but I'm not really positive how that works honestly. The payment comes from Air BnB.
