How do I remove dependents from a MI state return?

I need to leave the kids on the federal return.  We each file as a resident in different states and I need them on 1 but not the other.

So TurboTax cannot handle different state returns?  If I go into the form and just change the number of dependents on the state return will it automatically change everything to account for not being able to claim children in 2 different states?
