Explanations of the calculations of certain parts of the return appear at the end of the section.

For instance, when you finish entering a W-2 form,  there is an explanation of the refund/ tax due so far. If you review the W-2 form again, you will see that screen again.

To review past sections, use the left side menu to navigate back to the area you want to review. Then click Continue through the section until you get to the explanation page.

Watch for the Explain why links as you do this. They appear in blue on certain pages throughout the return.

If you are using TurboTax online, you can view some of your return information before you finish filing. Here is how to do it:

  1. Select Tax Tools near the bottom of the left side menu.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Select View Tax Summary from the pop up window.
  4. Next, click on Preview my 1040 on the left.
  5. The image will show you your Form 1040 and Schedules 1, 2 and 3.

When you want to go back to the interview, click Back on the left side.

If you are using Turbo Tax software installed on your computer, click Forms in the upper right corner to view your forms at any point.
