Hello - I am having trouble understanding the State and Local Tax Refund Summary. I am confused where the numbers from my 2023 tax return are pulling in from. Ideas?

I believe you are referring to the State and Local Income Tax Refund Worksheet.  In part one of that worksheet, you will see in column (b) your 2023 state tax refund, which is the amount of the refund you had on your 2023 tax return. In column (c) you will see state estimated taxes paid in 2024 to be applied to the 2023 tax return. In column (d) you will see any state taxes paid when you filed for an extension on your 2023 tax return. Column (e) will show the total state tax paid in including tax withheld from your pay, column (f) would show the refund amount applied to your estimated taxes paid after 12/31/23 and column (g) would show the refund portion applied to any extension payments you made.

I can't be specific since I don't what state you are referring to, but the refund should be clearly identified toward the end of the return, near where you sign. There should also be lines where the estimated and withheld taxes are listed near where the refund amount is listed on your state tax return.
