I am having trouble filing my state taxes on the free online TurboTax website. I have already reviewed the information multiple times and it is all accurate. I am brought to a "Just a few more steps and we'll file your returns" page where I am prompted to "Start" Step 1 "Review your order". When I proceed, I am brought to a page with my receipts for both "TurboTax Online Do It Yourself Deluxe 2025 and TurboTax Refund Processing Service Fee 2025", and "Up to 5 days early", both of which were deducted with my approved federal return on 1/31/2026. Upon clicking "Continue", I reach a page that says "You're ready to file your Louisiana return", and when I click "Continue" again, it returns to the first "Just a few more steps" page where it still says I need to review step 1.
I spoke with a representative on 1/31/26 who told me this was a known issue where TurboTax was failing to recognize the return was already paid for, and he would add me to the email list for notification of the issue being resolved. On 2/2/26, I received an email stating "INV 34705 Hello, There’s an update on the TurboTax investigation you’re following: FNF Step 1 retains original refund transfer order after upgrade, blocking payment and filing. We’re happy to inform you that we’ve updated TurboTax and resolved the issue you experienced. If you’re using TurboTax Online, it’s been updated automatically. Just sign in and you can continue working.". I attempted to continue filing my state taxes and the issue was NOT resolved. I called and spoke with 2 more representatives over the phone, one who reviewed my entire state tax entries with me, and then told me my solution would be to mail my taxes to the Department of Revenue. The second representative told me that I would have to file as a non-resident (and he kept repeating that I needed to do that if I worked out of state, to which I corrected and confirmed multiple times that I never worked out of state?), both of these options do not seem correct to me because neither solutions apply to my situation (never worked out of state, federal was not rejected).
I have attempted from multiple devices, browsers, cleared cache and cookies, etc. with no success.
