Filing jointly for first time. We're NY residents

The section asks for the totals for 2019 but only provides one space as if we had filed jointly but we did not as we got married in 2020. Are we supposed to add up both our totals into one to answer this question?

Yes, if you both filed single in 2019 and are filing married filing joint in 2020, then you would combine the amounts for both spouses on the IT-201 lines in question.

What "total" is the program asking for - your AGIs?

Filing jointly for first time. We're NY residents

It asks for "Total Tax From 2019 (Form IT-201, total of lines 46 and 58)" and for "Total Credits Claimed From 2019 (Form IT-201, total of lines 63-71)". But we filed separately last year, so I am wondering if I should add up both our totals for each
