I am finishing up my state tax return and it asks for my total Federal Income Tax Refund received in 2021. The last line prepopulates the stimulus payments received. In the next section it asks how much of the refund was received by my spouse and has the total refund next to it. The total number subtracted the stimulus payments from the number I entered as the total refund received. Is this a glitch in the system or should I be entering the total income tax refund received as my actual refund plus the stimulus money?

Which state is it? Some of the states do not include the stimulus as a tax refund, but I want to look it up to be sure.

Iowa - I tried taking out the stimulus payment, but it wouldn't let me remove the figure.
Iowa does not conform. Iowa wants the stimulus removed from the refund. See Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act / Iowa
