Federal accepted but not state. HELP!

Hi everyone!

I am so tax literate. My federal taxes were accepted, but not my state.  I received this message....

"Description of error:

Your tax return is on hold pending a product update regarding Charitable Contributions.

What needs to be done:

Your Wisconsin tax return wasn't e-filed because of an issue in the return. This issue will be resolved in a product release on 1/27/23. Please update your software at this time (for web products, this will happen automatically), run a final review of your state return, make the appropriate change and re-submit this return electronically. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

I have no idea what this means. I moved in July and donated most of my belongings to bins and drop off centers so I didn't receive an receipts.  I don't know how to fix this.  I clicked the fix the issue and it just returns me right back to efile without changing anything if need be. Though if I changed anything, wouldn't that then affect my federal return? What should I do?!

What this is saying is that TurboTax has an issue with the Wisconsin state program that will be resolved on 1/27/2023.  The software will automatically update if you're using the Online platform.  If you used the Desktop platform (CD/Download), you may have to update the software yourself.

Either way, once your software has been updated to reflect the "fix", you can review your state return, then e-file it again.  

You did great!  Wait until the evening of the 27th to try to e-file your state return again.  Please post back if you still have issues.
