For my 2018 State of New Mexico tax return in addition to the state tax withheld on my 1099R I paid quarterly additional state taxes. These 2 combined were not enough so I had to pay an additional amount of $50 to make the total amount of State taxes due to New Mexico.
While the additional $50 amount was on my 2018 New Mexico return, I can not tell if it was included in my 2018 Federal tax return, where can I look to see if that is the case.
Or do I claim the $50 on my 2019 return, if so where would I put it.
I know the easy answer is go see my tax preparer. Unfortunately he passed away so I can not get it from him

The quarterly state taxes goes in the same page where you input the federal quarterly. But first, you will have to make sure that you haven't taken credit for that amount. I suspect it would have already been accounted for if you filed your taxes for 2018 and your return was processed. If you had an over payment, you would more than likely have received a check from the state by now.
