I live in FL and am a resident of FL, never lived in NY. I am considering taking a remote position with a Software startup based out of New York. They are a full remote company, smaller than 10 people, and distributed throughout the USA, no office to work out of. There is a space provided by the investors which is really just a physical meeting place to be used on occasion to bring customers, and where the company can list an address. Company uses a PEO to do payroll, not sure if that makes a difference.
I read about the NY Employer Convenience rule, so trying to figure out how it applies here. Since my job would be remote from home with no office space for me to work does that mean it's at my employer's convenience? Would having that address in New York where the employer would meet customers on occasion affect anything in the eyes of NY of remote at my own convenience? I haven't seen anyone else ask about a full remote Employer based in NY.
