You treat the "two" W2s as one.  Delete one of them in TurboTax.  (For arguments sake, let's say you delete the Wisconsin W2).  Then, underneath the MN information on the first W2 you input, click on "Add a State", and then enter the information from the Wisconsin lines.

Many times payroll processors will print duplicate W2 versions with the same Federal information on it, but with different state (or local) income and tax amounts.  When this is the case, you don't have two separate W2s, but one W2 with several states.

However, if the Federal income and tax information on the two W2s are different, then you have entered the information correctly, and there are separate income amounts that must be added together.

If the EIN number is the same and you work in more than 1 state or city, sometimes they will give you another W2 with the extra state information on it and the top part the same or not filled in.  If this is the case, list one W-2 but include both state or local  taxes on it.  It will let you type in more than one line for boxes 15-20.  Don't add the boxes together.

Same for boxes 12 & 14 if there is no room on the first W2 they can give you another W2 with the extra boxes on it.  So list them all on 1 W2.  For box 12 just enter it in the next row or box.  It doesn't have to match the box 12a-d etc.

Actually, not working, I'm retired.  Live in MN, former employer in WI.  Does that impact at all?  thank you for your help.  I just want to make sure I won't have a doubling of income because of the two W2 forms.

Worked exactly as described.  No doubling of amount.  Thank you!
