Does anyone know why my employer would pull less federal with holdings when i havent changed anything on my w-4 form.

if your taxable pay went down, your withholding will go down.   from your paycheck, federal income taxes, social security taxes and Medicare taxes are taken out. so if by federal withholding you mean all 3 taxes, then it's possible you are over the Social Security limit so "withholding" would decrease. there are no limits for income tax and Medicare withholding. there can be many other reasons so you would need to ask your employer if it's none of the above.
