DO I need to pay a penalty or interest if I do not owe any North Carolina taxes?

I filed an extension before April 18, 2023.  I will file my 2022 return on October 16, 2023?

If no taxes are owed on the NC return or you are receiving a NC tax refund there are no penalties for filing after the due date of the tax return.
