didn't file state tax

What do you mean by "MY state taxes for my daughter"? Do you mean your daughter's state taxes?

We can't see your daughter's tax return, and we don't know anything about your daughter or her income, so we have no way of knowing whether she has to file a state tax return. Did she live or work in a state that has personal income tax? If so, go back to the Personal Info or My Info section make sure you entered her correct state of residence, and whether she has any income from another state. If she has a W-2, make sure you entered the correct state in box 15.

Click the State Taxes tab or the State tab, depending on what version of TurboTax you are using. Then you can select the state that you want and prepare a state tax return.

If you have further questions, please give us some information about your daughter. We can't see her tax return or your screen. We don't know anything about you or your daughter except what you write in your posts. How old is your daughter? What kinds of income does she have? Is she your dependent? What state does she live in? If she worked, what state did she work in? Also tell us whether you are using TurboTax Online or the CD/Download TurboTax software.

If this is one of those situations, where you were allowed to put her unearned income on your return (form 8814), she does not need to fila a state return, because her income automatically transferred to your state return.
