Hi,
My residence is at NV, but I work at CA. I know I have to pay state tax for the income, but do I have to pay capital gain tax in CA if I gain some capital? (ex. Sold stocks). I do not have a residence in CA; I just commute from NV to CA.

With regard to the sale of stock, if you were a non-resident of CA at the time you received the proceeds, the gain is not taxable by CA.
Q. Do I have to pay capital gain tax in CA if I Sold stocks.
A. No. Only income earned in CA is taxable by CA.
