Well so far, it is just this one screen - in the State and Local Tax Returns area under 1099-MISC & Other Common Income (4th section under "Wages & Income*. On the first screen of Updating your State and Local Tax Refund Summary, after clicking on Edit, I get a screen with 2 Boxes - a box for Total Refund Received in 2021 & another box for Total of all your payments and withholding.
I cannot get the Add Supporting Details screen to pop-up. When I right-click on either box, the "Add Supporting Details" option is greyed out. CTRL-I doesn't work, Add Supporting Details from the Edit menu dropdown doesn't work, double-click doesn't work - NOTHING WORKS.
Did, or Why did TurboTax disable that feature (which I love) for these boxes - or is this a BUG. I have some notes I would like to record with these values - not even mentioning that I do not totally understand what should be going into the 2nd box.

The second box is a total of all the payments you made in 2020. If you check your 2020 1040 it is the amount on line 33.
The comment sections are generally reserved for things that could possibly have a comment to be added. Since these are just math from last year there isn't much for anyone to say about these two boxes. Makes sense that the program wouldn't bother to have them here.
RobertB-
Thanks for the response. I guess you are saying that TurboTax has disabled the Add Supporting Details feature for those boxes because there is no math involved since the value inserted in the box comes directly from another form, specifically last year's return.
However, I disagree with that assumption. Your comment on where to find this value for the box is EXACTLY the kind of information that I would like to enter in the Supporting Details.
I have always used Supporting Details for this type of information (often explanations as opposed to math) and TurboTax to their credit carries Supporting Details over from year-to-year so that I can remember or see what I have done in past tax years. Maybe a misuse in TurboTax's opinion, but I have Supporting Details that have notes going back 4-5 years - kind of a tax history for some of my entries.
OK, I guess I will have to assume your response is the way TurboTax is thinking for some of their boxes, but as an EXPERT rating, maybe you have some connection with those guys, and I would like for you to pass my comments along. I LOVE the TurboTax Add Supporting Details feature and think every box TurboTax has should allow for the Add Supporting Details capability.
Thanks again Robert.
