Can I file a full year Federal tax form and a part year Wisconsin form?

I moved in August, 2016 from South Dakota (no income tax) to Wisconsin (income tax)  Can I, in Turbo Tax, file a full year Federal form and part year Wisconsin form?

Yes, you can. You will just inform TurboTax while completing the Wisconsin State return the months that you were a part year resident and it will calculate your tax. 

• Login to your TurboTax online account

• Click Take me to my return

• Click the State Taxes tab, then Continue

• Click Continue next to your Wisconsin state return or click Add another state

• Once in the Wisconsin return, click Yes on the Did you have more than one state of residence in 2016? screen

• In the Part-Year Resident Dates screen, enter the dates that you were a Wisconsin resident. This will allow TurboTax to calculate the tax based on the months you were a resident.
