California: W-2 with CA SDI and CA VDI EE cannot file online

My employer moved us in July 2024 to a Voluntary Private Disability Plan which meant that half the year we had contributions to the standard CA SDI and then moved to the VDI.

This means my W-2 has two entries on BOX 14 and it seems having two disability funds in the same year is disqualifying me from filing online. Is this a glitch or really a restriction on e-filing for California?

@cpooles Can you clarify if you are getting an actual e-file error code or is it just in Error Check?  You should be able to leave off the Box 14 amounts unless you are deducting them as state taxes paid on itemized deductions.

@MaryK4 Thanks for following up. It's the State that says I cannot e-file due to having two disability plans. Can I just add them up under the same category?

@cpooles I am going to call tomorrow.  I am quite sure this is not the first time this has happened and since it is the state error, I would rather be sure.  I'll post as soon as I find out. Update: I had to leave a message, so I am waiting for response.

@cpooles You will want to add the amounts and enter as one entry for Box 14.  The rep at FB said the rule for no double entry for Box 14 is to ensure that no extra SDI is withheld from employees.
