California Tax Rejected

My mother does not live with me but i have always claimed her has a dependent. But this year my taxes got rejected and this is the message i got, does anyone know why turbo tax rep couldn't help me.

Description of error:
Your California return could not be processed electronically due to incomplete or invalid information on Form 3532, Head of Household Filing Status Schedule. In order to file electronically, a non-zero entry is required for the number of days the qualifying person lived with the taxpayer during the year. If you are using TurboTax Online, there will be a product update available on February 10 that will allow you to make this entry. On or after that date, go through Review, make an entry, and re-transmit the return. Desktop users can make the entry now in Forms Mode on Line 5 of Part III.

I'm afraid that that fix isn't available yet.  You'll need to wait and file after February 10th and then your return should go through just fine.

California Tax Rejected

My CA State Return was rejected today for the same reason.  Today is February 13th and the problem has not been fixed.  Is there an update to this item?

When your state or the IRS have the forms available for publishing they will release them. It is not Turbo Tax that releases forms needed for a return. The date is based on the day specified by the IRS or the state.

It's possible the form is not available. Please see this Turbo Tax FAQ on State forms availability for personal use.
State forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products.

In the link you provided it says the form is available (head of household form 3532) so it has to be a turbo tax issues.

The form shows up on the printed version of my documents. So it is not that.

I even downloaded the desktop version and submitted the state return there and got rejected again, with the same error message.

This issue should be resolved as of February 10. if you are using TurboTax CD/Download software, please try updating your software by following the steps in the below TurboTax help article.

How do I update my TurboTax CD/Download software program?

If that does not work or you are using TurboTax Online, please wait a few days for the software to update.

I am having this exact same issue. I'm using a web browser and not a CD. As I understand it, a disabled parent isn't required to live with you at all to be claimed as a dependent. Is this a bug in the IRS or TurboTax Software What is going on?

I had the same issue and was able to resolve it.

I went back to the personal information and edited filing status, and realized there were interview questions that it had not asked me as I transferred the information from last year. I deleted the dependent, answered the questions again, and tried filing again (2-3 times), but got the same result that it was rejected. I finally went back in, deleted my CA taxes, and had it regenerate (and did manual adjustments) with the updated dependent info, and it was accepted this time.
