thanks for the advice. i'm just wondering though if it is really that simple, why wouldn't TurboTax do this automatically? Seems like taking your 1099G and dividing by 2 is something that TurboTax should be handling by itself. Odd that Turbotax isn't offering and help/advice on this page.
Unfortunately, this is not an automatic calculation that can be applied to all cases, so each taxpayer must enter the amount manually.
