529 Contributions for Illinois
Why can't I claim 529 college savings contributions for Illinois with TurboTax Deluxe 2022? I've always been able to in previous years. According to the paper form, it is still deductible on Schedule M.
The option to claim a deduction for a contribution to the Bright Start, Bright Directions, or College Illinois plans is still there in TurboTax Deluxe.
You can find it by going through your Illinois return and looking for the screen titled, 'Here's the income that Illinois handles differently'. On that screen, scroll to the Education section and click Start beside College savings and prepaid tuition plan contributions to enter your information.
