Hi,
After filing my taxes, when I save a PDF copy of my return, the state estimated taxes due for the coming year are normally included in the PDF copy, in the Filing Instructions area (similar to the Fed instructions). This year, they aren't there. I went back into Turbo Tax and created another PDF copy, including all of the worksheets, but no state estimated tax information. No vouchers either. I went back in to select specific forms, but the state estimated information isn't included. Also, the state filing instructions is normally a 2 page document, but this year, it's just 1 due to the lack of estimated tax information. My state is California.
Any ideas on how to get the state estimated tax info included in my return?

Understand that I cannot see your private tax data, but let me make the following observations.
"the state estimated taxes due for the coming year" - estimate taxes are not due in the same way that tax is due when you file your return. The estimated tax forms that TurboTax prints out are just that, "estimated". In fact, you may be aware of circumstances in the coming year that could cause you to decide that you can reduce your quarterly payments or not have to make any payments at all.
TurboTax normally generates the estimated tax forms if it seems likely based on your current return that you will need to pay estimated taxes to avoid an underpayment penalty next year.
California says,
"Generally, you do not have to make estimated tax payments if the total of your California withholdings is 90% of your required annual payment. Also, you do not have to make estimated tax payments if you will pay enough through withholding to keep the amount you owe with your tax return under $500 ($250 if married/registered domestic partner (RDP) filing separately). "
Any chance that you were within $500 of the tax due this year or that your withholding was more than 90% of the tax due? That would explain not having estimated tax forms this year with your return.
If you decide that you want to make estimated tax payments, you can find the 540-ES forms at this California webpage.
Alternatively, you might look at the options to pay the CA FTB online.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I do need to pay estimated taxes this year. The calculation that determines estimated taxes is included in the CA state tax form, so I was able to dive into the form and find the amounts that need to be paid quarterly this year (the first one is due today). Normally, though, TurboTax includes that information at the beginning of the CA tax summary, as a convenience, within the first few pages of the return (when viewed as a PDF). Along with that, they included the completed tax vouchers that can be mailed in with the payment. This year, however, the vouchers and payment information are missing. It's probably something that should be brought to the attention of the TurboTax developers, but I haven't been able to find a way to do that yet.
