Users are experiencing an accepted return with TurboTax and a pending status with the IRS. The IRS is doing its best to keep up with this year's circumstances. Please refer to the IRS Website: https://www.irs.gov/refunds for updates on your personalized situation.

2-26 Update: Why is my return still pending (With TurboTax?)
Earlier this tax season, many people noticed that their return was "pending" for more than the average 48 hours. This pending status meant we noticed an issue that may have caused your return to be rejected and did an extra review to assess the reason it was flagged, resolved it for you, or identified what you needed to do to ensure everything is accurate and your return is accepted.

New Mexico State, as of (2/26) is currently experiencing a backlog building up. This week, they are increasing the volume of returns retrieved, and expect to clear the pending backlog within the next few days.

If you are not filing with New Mexico and it's been 48 hours since you've submitted your return, please comment on this thread.

It's now been over 130 hours since I submitted my Fed + CA and PA state returns on the evening of 2-15-21 and have received absolutely nothing from TurboTax about acceptance or rejection for either the Fed or State returns. Still says "Pending" in my Windows version of TT. What's going on??? Seems to be a common problem. Is TT software still incomplete for filing at this date and therefore is causing delays???

You’re correct about this being a common event. A TT rep told me if a return is pending then it has been sent to the IRS and state. I’m not sure he really knows what “pending” means. TT reps I’ve talked to have had no suggestions on what the customer/filer should do. They are tax people.

My return is still pending. No email federal was accepted but state is pending

I filed mine on 2/15/21 and Federal and State show pending still. I also paid for the online software. I have not received any information or emails from TurboTax.

It would be great to hear what's going on..

I transmitted my return 2/17 at 10AM PT. I received the e-mail indicating it was transmitted. I have not yet received any rejection of acceptance messages.

Two other returns filed that same day hours later, were accepted or rejected within 35 minutes.

I have receive an email n Feb. 13th that my South Carolina return has been accepted. I would to print a copy of what has been submitted but am unable to do so. the message on the print tells me it is unavailable because "some forms have not been finalized. " Why can I not see what ha been accepted. I spent over an hour on the phone with s advisor yesterday who finished by hanging up on me. the reference number is [social security number removed].

I received rejections today, after 6 days, and refilled. Federal has been accepted.

Well after your deadline. My fed accepted almost immediately and CA still shows pending. Help?

Edited to add: this is really getting discouraging given TT lack of communication. I have no idea how to proceed and we certainly (your customers) don't need this kind of extra stress right now. The not communicating about the issue is more of a thing than the pending thing.

Edited to add again: It's monday morning and finally got a rejection notification and instructions for fixing it and now it is on the way and accepted. I appreciate that TT fixed whatever was the error but if it were not for this forum I'd be frantically worrying without any word (email or text) from TT about what they were doing to remedy the situation. Communication to customers, even when it isn't good news, is more helpful than silence. Just saying.
