Why does TurboTax assume Code G is for a Roth Conversion?

"You indicated that you converted a traditional IRA to a Roth IRA with Code G in Box 7. However, if this is true it should have Code 1, 2, or 7 instead."

I performed a rollover from a Traditional IRA to a 401k.  My institution tagged it as Code G which according to the IRS is correct.

Code G is correct for a rollover from a Traditional IRA to a 401(k) plan.

You had this message because in the TurboTax interview you may have indicated that the rollover was to a Roth IRA. Please revisit your 1099-R entry and carefully answer all the questions in the interview.

This is a bug in the online version of TurboTax.  You can ignore the warning and indicate that the Form 1099-R is correct.  Code G with the IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box marked has nothing to do with any kind of Roth account.  The CD/download version of TurboTax does not have this bug.
