Why does this program keep defaulting to a $20,000 Subtraction on the military pension exclusion?

I did not enter this subtraction amount, nor can I remove it or edit it?

Why does this program keep defaulting to a $20,000 Subtraction on the military pension exclusion?

This is likely the result of indicating during the entry of a Form 1099-R that the distribution was from active or reserve military retirement.

CA - I believe this is a new (2025) option for former (retired) military members.
