The jump to link seems to be missing this year in Turbo Tax. if you are trying to report a 1099 R distribution as a rollover, report the the distribution and the program will lead you to the area where you will enter your rollover information.
I'm not seeing the "Jump to" link. My IRA is a total rollover with code $0.00 in Box 2 (Taxable Amount) and "G" in Box 7 which indicates it's a total rollover, but Turbotax continues to tax this as income. So how do we resolve this?
After you have entered your form 1099-R, on the summary page, click Continue and follow the TurboTax interview. Indicate that the amount is rolled over to a Traditional IRA.
TurboTax will report as Gross Income but will not tax it.
It partly answered my question but it did not lead to an answer as it said it would. From another person I learned that they coded line 7 as a G which I did and it solved the problem. A turbo tax info said to code line seven with the correct code even if it was coded wrong on the 1099-R. It did it and it worked.
