By "gross income" do you mean the 2019 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) that is needed to efile 2020? If so, try using 0 (zero) for that. Also be sure your last name matches what is on your Social Security card.
I've just reread your post, and you mentioned both except (Did you mean Accept, or rather Expect?) and full federal refund. Do you mean that the IRS told you your actual refund is less than what you filed for? If so, please post back.
The accepted my return as is, then when it finally scheduled its now showing less then half of what they accepted. It is saying that a social, last name or gross income could be wrong. I have checked over everything and it’s all correct.
The IRS will be mailing you a letter outlining the exact change they made. Wait for it to arrive.
Ok thank you for your time
How much is on your 1040 line 30? Did you already get the first or second Stimulus payments? Did you not enter the correct amounts you already got so it gave it to you again? Who all are you claiming on your return?
Line 30 1800 we got both stimulus first and second. We file jointly and have 1 10 year old
So you already got the full 4,700? 2,900 for the first one and 1,800 for the second one? Looks like you didn't enter the second 1,800 you already got. Did it come after you filed? The IRS sounds right.
It may have came before I filed, that could be the problem I didn’t add both rounds of stimulus. Maybe I was thinking it would be 2021 since that’s when I received it. But I see it’s technically 2020
So you're ok now? You see you already got it.
So because I got a stimulus I don’t get my full federal return? That’s doesn’t even come to the child tax credit what they are trying to give back. Maybe I am just confused
You get your refund but it included the 1800 you already got separately. By it being on line 30 you tried to get the second stimulus again. Cross out the line 30 1,800 on your copy and recalculate the amounts on lines 30-37 and see what your refund should have been.
Ok I’m following now. I can’t amend it until the 25th thank you
