When asked for a W-2 just indicate that you do not have a W-2 or select Skip for now.

If the program still thinks you have a W-2 then see if there is a phantom W-2 in your forms list and if there is one, delete it.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen

Click on Tools

Click on Delete a form

You don't need to enter a w-2, you can skip the w-2 section.   If you have one started, you may need to delete it.    Search for w-2, and use the jump to link.   If you see any w-2s, delete them.

You tell the software  in Federal>Wages & Income that you do not have a W-2. Then you move on and enter the other kinds of income you have like Social Security or pension, or retirement account distributions, etc.

Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

To enter your retirement income, Go to  Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA  401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.
