Where do I enter a "taxable grant" from a 1099-G form?

You would enter the 1099-G under the Income and Expenses section of the federal return.

  1. Scroll down to Other Common Income and select Other 1099-G Income
  2. Click on the start button next to Other 1099-G Income
  3. Answer the questions and continue through the section to enter your 1099-G.

TurboTax puts the income on line 8z of Schedule 1 which ends up on line 8 of form 1040.

I don't see anything for "Other 1099-G Income" in the "Other Income" Tab

@LenaH  - Thank you so much!  The 1099-G that we have received is for corporate / small business and not for individual. I see the section for adding 1099-G in Other Income in the Turbo Tax for Home and Business which is for individual Tax filing but I do not see this option in Turbo Tax Business!

I'm not sure what kind of business (S corp, C corp, Partnership) you are working with, but there should be an income category for Other Income, and in that section you should see an opportunity to enter All Other Income. You can write in an income category and amount there for your grant revenue.

Thanks @ThomasM125 !  The only problem here is that I can only provide income category and amount here for my taxable grant revenue.

There is no way to enter data of other boxes and payer's name, etc - maybe that is irrelevant!

Is Box 8 of your 1099-G marked with an X?   If it is, what other boxes are preventing you from entering the income in Other Income on TurboTax Business - the amount of the grant should suffice.  The payer's name is irrelevant.   The only thing I can think of that you would need to enter separately is any tax withheld.   But you can enter that into the payments and credits section.

If the box (8) is not marked, you can enter it into Home and Business when preparing your personal tax return.    @harshverma
