When entering 1099-R info for federal gov't retirement benefits, TurboTax asks about state (Oregon) distribution amount. What does that mean?

Normally, the State Distribution Amount would be the same as the Total Distribution Amount in Box 1, unless otherwise indicated on your 1099-R.

If there are no amounts shown on your 1099-R, you can leave the entry blank in TurboTax.  You may get a screen asking you to confirm that there are no state amounts on your 1099-R.

The income will flow over into your Oregon return, and in the State interview, may exclude this income from taxes.

Here's some info from Oregon Dept of Revenue to help you:
