It is your Social Security Number. For tax purposes, that is what individuals use, while businesses use and EIN.

Are you trying to enter a SSA1099? You do not enter any sort of "ID"---you must be trying to enter it in the wrong place.

Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.
