I would enter each line as separate Form 1099-R.
As a non-spouse beneficiary, no indirect rollover is permitted, so just indicate that these distributions are all RMD.
Please explain. What 2 accounts? Why did you get a 1099R?
My wife's father died and she got payments out of two separate accounts from Principal
My wife's father died and she got money from two separate accounts with different account numbers but both on just one 1099-R. It has her father's name and then "DCD IRA BENEF CONDUIT FBO" and then my wife's name
Is the one 1099R for the total she got? If it is just enter it once. If not for the total then she should be getting another 1099R. Ask the company why there's only one.
Thanks,
She got only one 1099-R but each account distribution is listed separately and the federal and state taxes are also listed separately for each account. She closed out both accounts and received all the proceeds in 2023.
The account holder had died in 2018 but she did not know that until summer 2023.
Turbo Tax also wants to know if the lump sum payments were all RMD, partial RMD, or none of it RMD.
That sounds complicated. I'll page. @dmertz
I don't understand your last reply.
Thanks for your help today.
It turns out that @dmertz helped me earlier today on a different question
Enjoy your evening
Looking forward to get some answers tomorrow
