We got a 1099R that is complete but program is wanting Form 4852 filled out. Why? This was for deceased parent IRA account.

TurboTax would only prepare Form 4852 if you told TurboTax that you needed to prepare a substitute Form 1099-R.  If you have the actual Form 1099-R, delete the Form 4852 in forms mode.  The Form 4852 cannot be deleted in step-by-step mode.

I will try this.  Calif. will not allow efile if the 4852 form is included.
