Turbotax has no means to enter multiple code Ds in box 12 from the W-2. This happens when a person makes makeup contributions for a prior tax year IAW USERRA law (see https://www.irs.gov/retirement-plans/retirement-plans-faqs-regarding-userra-and-sscra#w21, W-2 reporting). Your coders need to amend the input field for box 12 item D to allow for multiple box Ds and box D values with a 2-digit year prefix (at least in the app) to avoid a turbotax "over contribution limit" error message. Example:
As your system currently allows, my box 12 code D would total $29319.88 on my 2024 W-2, over the $23k limit (I'm 44 years old). However, $6319.88 of that value is for makeup tax years 2019-2022 because I was on military leave from my employer and I did not contribute the maximum amounts during those years on active duty. USERRA allows me up to five years to make up those contributions.
Please submit this to your coders for incorporation.

Do you have 2 or more entries for code D? Like D23? You can just leave off the D with the year on it.
I don’t, but I should. I hit up my 401k manager for my company and asked for a corrected W-2. It would be better if TurboTax edited their software to allow for entries IAW the W-2 box 12 as published though.
