I retired in 2023. My employer 401k custodian only sent one check to my new custodian, who deposited it into a traditional IRA. Come to find out, there was a small amount of non-deductable funds included, which my new custodian disbursed and put into a Roth IRA at my direction (right or wrong). I got a 1099-R from my old custodian which includes the non-deductable amount, and another 1099R from my new custodian for the Roth. Seems I'm getting "1099"-ed twice?
Can I create a backdoor Roth for this amount? How do I get Turbotax to generate the 8606 form? Right now, 1040 is showing the non-deductable amount on f1040, line 4b, and I'm getting hit for taxes as if it was a true disbursement. I'm using TT Deluxe.
