The TIN is incorrect on a 1099R. Put another way, it is evidently different from what the IRS has. I've called all the banks where the error might be, and the numbers are correct according to the banks. The system doesn't say which TIN is incorrect, only that there is an incorrect number. Because it's wrong at the IRS, I have to file paper rather than E-file. How do I get it fixed? Contacting anyone at the IRS is impossible.
