I am divorcing. In court order, support (spousal and child) was determined to be $6119/month. In addition, ex husband is to pay for "arrears" for $290/month. What do I report in my taxes? Are the "arrears" to be reported as income tax?

FOR TAX YEAR 2016
Child support is not taxable income. Alimony (spousal maintenance) is taxable. You would report the total amount you actually received in 2016 including arrears, but only the amount that is alimony, not child support. If you don't know the breakdown of the payments, ask your attorney or check the fine print in the order.
