Step by Step Instructions - Populating Form 8606 - Fail to ask for Roth Conversion in 2024

It seems to me that your mode Step-by-Step instructions are missing question if one made Roth conversions in 2024, while populating Form 8606.

That information can only be input in the form, line 8, after switching to the Forms Mode.

Am I correct?

Thank you.

Disregard my previous message.

Roth Conversion data in Form 8606 is populated from Form 1099-R. The conversion qty comes into that form while answering, attentively, related questions using the Step-By-Step mode.

No,  This information can be input in the step-by-step mode.

Here is how to navigate to the question in TurboTax Desktop:

  1. Navigate to Federal Taxes > Wages & Income > I'll choose what I work on
  2. Retirement Plans and Social Security > IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)
  3. Add a 1099-R and enter the information as it appears on the form
  4.  Answer that you did a combination of rolling over, converting, or cashing out the money.  Input the Roth conversion here.

Thank you. Yes, you are correct, but I overlooked step #4 in your reply, which I revisited later, and everything settled in its place.
