Social Security Income Tax Withholding

Several people have posted that federal income tax withheld from Social Security is a percentage of the gross benefit amount rather than the amount remaining after Medicare premiums are deducted. However, using my wife's 2025 SSA-1099, I found that the amount withheld was in fact based on the amount remaining after the Medicare B premium was deducted. Don't believe everything you read. 8-)
