I haven't had any contributions to my IRA this year, and I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone to tell me if I will be receiving a 1099 this year.  I was wondering if there haven't been any contributions made, will I be receiving a 1099?
It's probably a question for Transamerica... but I can't seem to get in touch with anyone.

No.

If you have an IRA account, but you did not contribute or take any distributions from it, you will not get a 1099 and you do not need one.

There is nothing to report about it in 2016 if there was no activity.
