Is pension income that I receive from the Missouri Public Employees Retirement System taxable on my Kansas state tax form?

As of 2025, Kansas exempts income from federal government-designated Kansas state and local government retirement plans, military retirement plans, railroad plans and Social Security benefits from state income tax.

However, pension income from out-of-state public retirement systems, like the Missouri Public Employees Retirement System, aren't listed as exempt and would likely be taxable on your Kansas state tax form You can find more details about this here and scroll to Retirement Contributions and Benefits.
