It was just a distribution used in addition to our social security.

ALL 1099-R form must have a code in box 7. Are you sure the code is not a "7" which is the same as the box number?

If it actually is missing a code then contact the issuer of the 1099-R for a corrected form.

You have to have a Code in box 7. The most common code is also a 7 (same as the box #). If it's not there then ask the plan about it missing and get a corrected copy.

Or does box 7 say something like normal or non-Disability distribution?
