I am a federal retiree, residing in Louisiana who made a 2024 withdrawal from my Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). I am trying to determine if I am inputting correct info into Turbo Tax menu that asks "Where is Distribution From". If I input the option for federal 'code 04E' there is 0 tax due to Louisiana. If choose the option 'none of the above' then the withdrawal is Louisiana taxable. I know for certain that my regular pension is non taxed by Louisiana, but not certain if this separate distribution from the TSP (a federal 401k type plan) is taxable to Louisiana. I've tried to call Louisiana Dept. of Revenue several times, but no one seems to be familiar with the TSP.

So, what is the correct answer? I’ve been drawing mine for over 8 years and haven’t paid taxes on any of my retirement yet since it is all Federal income and Social security. This year it is showing I owe the state money.
Did you ever receive an answer on this question? I am in the same boat and wondering if I owe Louisiana state income taxes when filing my taxes?
