Disability Retirement Taxes in CA

Since 2012 I have filed my taxes and I get a refund of my taxes since I am disabled.  This year the blocks are filled out with the same distribution code 3 for disability  Why the change?

it sounds like you reached  mandatory retirement age. Chances are before now you were receiving a W2, but now received a 1099-R because you are either over 59 1/2 or at the mandatory retirement age for your profession.

@DAA13 A 1099-R with a Code 3 in Box 7 is considered Taxable Income, unless there is also an amount in Box 5 for Employee Contributions.

Click this link for more info on 1099-R for Disability.
