Prior contributions to ROTH IRA; include all contributions?

I cashed out a ROTH IRA CD (it was wrongly suggested to me by a bank) and it's having major impact on my return. It asks if I had other ROTH IRAs, which I do, and what was my contributions to them prior to 2016. Do they mean only the YEAR before 2016 or ALL YEARS/CONTRIBUTIONS before 2016?
