Why do we have to wait until Jan. 21 to get the update where you are able to enter pension income?
Is it a government issue or a TurboTax issue?

Issue is both.
You only have to wait until tomorrow. The IRS doesn’t even open until Jan 26.
Thank you for your quick response.
Thank you, VolvoGirl. I guess I can wait that long. 😁
Well it's Jan. 21 and still can't enter pension or 401k income.
Well here we are at the 21st and still no support for Pensions. Been using Turbo Tax for more than 10 years, but apparently it is time to move on. Intuit needs to understand that we use TurboTax not just for filing, but for planning refunds or taxes owed. This generally starts in December for me. Very frustrated and unhappy with Intuit. Give me what you have; even if you can't let me file. How hard is it to just let me enter a 1099R and estimate what my taxes are?
I was able to enter my pension, 401k info in the forms section and see what my refund amount is.
So what was the trick you used???
How? I just get the message that it’s unavailable
Don't quote me but I just heard from an Adminstrator "by the end of the day". So keep checking.
If you have the Desktop program you can enter the 1099R directly using the Forms Mode. But when the program is updated you need to go back though all the 1099R interview questions to the end of the section.
Open your tax form, click on "View", then add your 1099-R (s). Fill in the information from your 1099-R (s). The program will update your federal refund amount.
Appreciate your response but I unfortunately can not yet get into that section of turbo!
