My banking institution is not listed from the drop-down list and it won't let me add it.

The institution list there is only for importing from participating institutions.   You don't have to import.  Scroll way down to the bottom of that screen and choose something like "I'll use another way" or "I'll type it in myself."  On a later screen you'll be able to type in the name of your institution.
