My 2022 taxes miss coded an Roth 401K contribution as an Excess \"Roth IRA\" contribution. And I've paid the 6% \"Other Taxes\" in 2023 and 2024. how do I correct this?

how do I change a "Roth IRA" contribution to a "Roth 401K" contribution in a previous tax year?

You will need to amend your 2022 and 2023 tax return. Please see How do I amend my federal tax return for a prior year?

On your 2022 return you will delete the Roth IRA contribution entry in the IRA contribution interview. Your Roth 401(k) contribution is already listed on your W-2.

On your 2023 and 2024 return you will need to delete the excess contribution entry that got carried over:

  1. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “IRA contributions”
  2. Click on “Jump to IRA contributions"
  3. Select “Roth IRA
  4. On the "Enter Excess Contributions" screen delete the excess contribution amount that was carried over from 2022.
